HISTORY
The Baroque Singers were founded in 1977 by Margaret Mortimore and Diana Coker. They began as a choir that gave several concerts a year for charity. Thirty years later they are now established as one of Kent's leading chamber choirs.
The Baroque Singers perform regularly at sacred and secular venues throughout the county. Their repertoire focuses on music of the renaissance and baroque periods. More recently the choir has expanded its repertoire to include music by contemporary composers.
Over the past few seasons the choir has worked with local instrumentalists and school choirs. Acclaimed recent performances include Vivaldi's Gloria and Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art. And in the last year the choir have begun a cultural partnership with Tunbridge Wells' twin town, Weisbaden, Germany.
